who is vailaib?
I'm a junior software engineer based in Athens, Greece — currently navigating the space between backend development and data engineering. I write TypeScript, Python, and SQL, and I'm slowly making the transition toward building data pipelines and engineering systems that make sense of messy information.
Before I wrote code for a living, I spent years in 3D — modeling, rendering, playing with light. That artistic instinct still bleeds into how I approach technical work: I want things to not just work, but to feel considered.
Off-screen you'll find me in flea markets, jazz bars, somewhere in Europe with a camera, or plotting the next corner of the internet to make mine.

Data Engineering
Learning pipelines, studying for the transition from backend dev to data engineering. Building small ETL projects on the side.

Going deeper into pandas, dbt, and Airflow. Also studying Azure data services for cloud pipelines.

Miles Davis, Coltrane, and contemporary Athens jazz bars when I need to think. Music and code live in the same part of my brain.

Not as much as before, but the artistic instinct doesn't die. Mostly geometry and light experiments in Blender when inspiration strikes.
